U-13, 15 Holiday Gold Cup: Sammy, IGFC Boys Shine As Race To Qualification Still In Progress

Sammy Football Academy started their campaign in the U-13 and 15 Holiday Gold Cup on a winning note which kicked off last week at the Ijegun football pitch, Alimosho, Lagos.

Sammy opened their U-15 category with victory after humiliating Wonder Light 6-0 in their first game. This victory would position Sammy boys to get back qualification into the next stage.

In the U-13 category, Sammy also beat Wonder Light FA 3-0 in their opening match. Sammy boys triumphed in both categories as their opponents need to wake from their slumber to win their next game if they want to remain in contention.

In other matches,Igando Football Club, IGFC walloped Rising Stars 3-0 in U-13 category. Chinese Ukuagu from IGFC scored hat trick to win the man of the match.

Head coache of IGFC, Mohammed Jamie Aberejo commended his boys for the brilliant start and urged them to remain focused in their subsequent matches.

In another match, Sane Lions lost 0-4 to Radiant FA, Sammy thrashed Heritage 5-3, Super Accurate defeated AGRAS 2-1,

In U-15 category, Leklona also defeated Adebayo Samba 1-0, IGFC pip Heritage boys 1-0, In U-13 category, Wonder Light lost 1-3 to Heritage, Dynamic Force walloped Sane Lions 4-2, Rising Stars Lake lost 1-2 to Soteria FA as Adebayo Samba humbled Leklona boys 4-0.

Chairman organising committee, Samuel Haruna said he was satisfied with the standard of play by the participants noted that this year’s edition is better than pervious editions.

He also commended the coaches and club owners for their spirit of sportsmanship exhibited during their matches and admonished them to continue adhere strictly to the rules governing the competition.
