A well-known company based in Lagos, Intercontra on Tuesday officially signed a year sponsorship deal with Island Stars Football Academy.

penned their signature on contract paper to officially unveil the sponsor for the academy in the next one year.
Intercontra is a major infrastructure and solutions providing company in the area of civil construction, telecommunications engineering and power.
Jinadu while addressing journalists said the company is glad to sponsor the academy based on its performances since its inception.
He described Island Stars Football Academy as a well-structured football team that has solid developmental programmes for its members.
“Today marks the official signing of our sponsorship with Island Stars Academy. Before the official signing, we have been supporting them and I am happy that the academy is waxing stronger every day. Our sponsorship is not monetary gain but rather to contribute our own quota to the grassroots football development in the state,” he said.
Jinadu said one of the reasons his company partnered with the academy is the core value instilled in the kids. He observed that the academy is not only interested in the football development of the kids, but the academy is also ensured that players are well behaved on and off the pitch.
“Like i said earlier, Island Stars Academy is not just an academy but an academy that encourages kids to be disciplined and also teaches them moral value which is missing among some football academies in the country.
“Another thing I observed in the Island Stars Football Academy is that there is no discrimination, favouritism or sentiment in the academy as all the kids are treated equally which is a good one for Island Stars Academy,” he said.
Responding, founder of Island Stars Football Academy, Akinmoyo expressed gratitude to Intercontra for its financial and moral support to the academy.
Akinmoyo, who is also a member of Technical Committee of Lagos State Football Association LSFA, disclosed that the sponsorship deal would motivate the academy staff and management to give their best and thanked the Intercontrac for showing interest in the academy.

Akinmoyo explained that Island Stars Academy has many kids ranging from 4 to 18 years noted that more kids are expected to register before the year runs out.
He disclosed that the academy is not only training the kids but used to organise seminars and workshops for the staff to keep them abreast with the modern trends in football coaching and management.
He revealed that the academy is committed to assist the kids, adding that more than 15 players have enjoyed scholarship from the academy.
According to him, the academy is training at Banana Island football pitch, Ikoyi, Lagos with certified NIS coaches.
