BY SUNDAY AKINTOYE

Head Coach of SGFC Athletics Sports Club, Moshood Yakubu, has described Prince Kazeem Eletu FC as a team that are coordinated on the field of play, clinical and very dangerous when it comes to goal scoring.

Yakubu disclosed this after his team suffered 3-1 defeat against highly disciplined Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club in a friendly match held on Friday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium, Lagos.

The friendly match was organised to prepare Prince Kazeem Eletu FC ahead of 1XBET Cup which begins August in Lagos.

Speaking with our correspondent after the highly entertaining match, Yakubu said it was a tactical game for both sides but admitted that Prince Kazeem Eletu boys were clinical and dangerous in front of goal.

Yakubu who was highly disappointed with the outcome of the game said his boys created many scoring chances but they were not clinical and dangerous like his opponents when it comes to goal scoring.

“I am highly disappointed with the outcome of the game.My boys played good football but I must say that winning mentality is not part of them. Our opponents played good football as well but they took their chances when it comes to goal scoring.

“I think a team should have a winning mentality and Prince Kazeem Eletu boys have shown us today (Friday) in this encounter.I have learned one or two things in this match which would help my team to bounce back in our subsequent match,”he said.

Commenting on the match, Coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu, Isreal Adegolu expressed satisfaction with the standard of play by the both sides saying that this is the most difficult match his boys played recently.

“I like the fight our opponents gave to us.Honestly the match has lived up to expectations. It was not only tactical game but it was also a difficult match for my boys and I must say that this is type of friendly match I want for them in preparation for the future high profile football competitions and other scouting programme,”he said.

Eletu boys opened the goal scoring through Jude Obasi but SGFC Athletics Sports Club quickly got the equalizer through John Salako after Eletu keeper committed a blunder to give their opponents a cheap goal.

Both teams played purposeful football as number of goal scoring were created in the encounter watched by appreciable crowd.

In the course of the game, changes were introduced by both teams to make the encounter entertaining.Eletu who were at their best in the second half got the second goal through Chukuwrah Henshaw.

SGFC Athletics Sports boys also created some scary moments but they were poor in goal goal scoring.Sule Gbadamonsi who man the goalpost for SGFC made several saves to save his team from embarrassing defeat.

A deserved penalty was also awarded to Eletu in added time as Obasi quickly sent Gbadamonsi to the wrong side to make it third goal for Prince Kazeem Eletu FC.
