In a bid to intensify their efforts on preparation ahead of Nationwide League One NLO U-19 scheduled to commence this month, Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy have been given thumb up after defeating Sporting Lagos Football Academy 2-0 in a friendly match held on Friday morning(6am) at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena known as Onikan Stadium.
The friendly was organised as part of Prince Kazeem Eletu in preparation for the Nationwide League One NLO U-19 which starts soon.
Speaking after the match, Prince Kazeem Eletu Coach, Israel Adegolu commended his players for impressive performance against their opponents saying that the team are gradually bouncing back after their early exit in the ongoing 1X Cup taking place at Inspire Stadium, Oshodi, Cappa.
“It was a good match and my players played better than their last match against Collins Edwin at the 1X Cup.Sporting Lagos are NLO team and last Lagos FA Cup quarter finalist.I must commend my players for their impressive form showed against their opponents and I wish they should continue like this when the league kicks off,”he said.
Adegolu disclosed that most of his players in the team are new signings (players) noted that their adaptability to the club formation and philosophy would take a longer time.
“A lots are epected from Prince Kazeem Eletu FC and I want our fans to realise that most of these players in the team are new players so we need to give them time to adapt to the club philosophy and formation.Like I said before what my players played against Sporting Lagos Academy in friendly match was quite impressive and I commend them for the job well done,”he said.
Meanwhile, David Owusu opened the goal scoring in the 22nd minute. The game showed the resilience of both teams, and scoring chances were missed by both teams in an encounter described as a highly tactical game.
The second half was tough as both teams played purposeful football.Eletu who lost 1-3 to Collins Edwin FC at the 1X Cup preliminary knockout stage lived up to expectations as Abraham Chiwetalu netted the second goal to give Eletu boys a well deserved victory.
