Head Coach of a Lagos based semiprofessional club, Prince Kazeem Israel Football Club, Israel Adegolu has advised his players to be strong, courageous and focused on the field of play.
Adegolu disclosed this after his team defeated Lekki Junior Strikers 2-0 in a friendly match played recently at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium,Lagos.
Eletu who started their friendly matches 2023/24 season on a shaky note after playing 2-2 draw with R2 Finesse and came back to winning ways in their second friendly match against Lekki Junior Strikers.
Despite the victory, Adegolu explained that his boys needed to be strong, courageous and focused on the field of play and in their subsequent matches saying that he expected his boys to play better in their last friendly match.
“Of course we won our opponents but i am not satisfied with the players performance.They need to be strong, courageous and focused on the field of play.If we meet a strong opponents, we won’t find it easy.
“This is the time the boys need to wake up from their slumbers because soonest we would be playing a tough opponents and if we continue to play like this, it would be difficult to win a match.
“However I always say that i am particularly concerned about development of the players not result but in the modern day football both result and player’s development go hand in hand.Our performance against Lekki Junior Strikers was not too good despite the victory and i expect better performance from them in our next friendly game,”he said.
In his own comment, Lekki Junior Strikers coach, Adeyemi Adegboyega said both teams played good football and commeded his players for good performance despite team’s defeat.
Meanwhile Chinedu Emmanuel quickly registered opening goal for Eletu boys in the early game, while Akeem Taofeek scored the second goal towards the half time. The second half did not produce any goal as both teams missed a lot of scoring chances.
