Chairman Of Chekas United Football Club, Chekwube Uzoegbo has expressed shock over the sudden death of former Acting Chairman of Badagry Divisional Football Association, BDFA, Osahon Emokpae.
Osahon Emokpae died on Thursday morning after a brief illness and his death was a shock to football coaches in the state.The football stakeholders have been continuing to pay tributes to the late coach who contributed immensely to football development in Lagos during his life time.
In his official statement issued to our correspondent, Chekas United boss described the passing of BDFA leader a shock to football coaches not only in Badagry but Lagos as a whole.
He said before his dead, Osahon was a founder of Young Stars FC and a certified Coach who has used his wealth of experience to touch many lives of footballers and coaches in the state.
His statement reads”The leadership and entire members of Chekas United are deeply saddened by the passing of Coach Osahon Emokpae, Head Coach of Young Star F.C. and Chairman of the Badagry Divisional Football Association.
“His unwavering commitment to football development and his invaluable contributions to the game will always be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, Young Star F.C., the Badagry football community, and all who mourn his passing.
“May God grant them strength during this difficult time, and may Coach Osahon Emokpae’s soul rest in perfect peace,”The statement reads.
In his own condolences message,CEO of Bright Stars Football Academy, Franklin Ademola Ibojo described late Osahon a sefless and humbled sports administrator and football coach
According to him, late Osahon dedicated his life to discovering, nurturing and inspiring young football talents, leaving behind legacy that would continue to shape generations of players.
He also prayed for the departed soul and his family left behind saying that late Osahon had done well throughout his coaching career.
