Football Fiesta: Organisers Begin Early Plans, Target 16 Clubs Across Lagos

Organisers of the inaugural edition of Football Fiesta Cup have begun early preparations for the tournament which holds 16, November at the Proposed Palace playground, Igando, Alimosho, Lagos.

A total of 16 teams across the state are expected to feature in the tournament.

Match Coordinator, Habeeb Bello confirmed to our correspondent that plans have started ahead of the draws and commencement of the tournament.

He disclosed that the tourney is an home and away knockout format noted that all matches would be played at one venue.

“We have started selling the registration forms to the clubs with the sum of N20,000 and I am happy that some clubs have finished their payments , while some are planning to pay before our draw ceremony.

“We are looking forward to 16 clubs and we still need more clubs to come and pick their registration forms.Once we have seen the number of clubs we are looking for, we would go ahead with the draws/ press conference,”he said.

Bello revealed that the aim of the competition is to bring clubs from Igando and other part of Lagos together to play one another and also bring some clubs to the limelight.

Some of the clubs registered for the tournament are Sterling FC, Quality All Stars,Oloke FC,Bucknor FC, Future Stars, All Stars of Igando, Sansan Boys and Golden Planner FC.

Bello however revealed that the competition would be sponsored by Pyramid Edge Concept and Nadis Xchange, while the champions of the tournament would go home with the sum of N300,000 and a giant trophy as second would pocket sum of N100,000.
