Two teams have been eliminated in the ongoing U-15 Seamoriow Football Championship taking place at the Seamoriow sports complex, Abaranje Road, Ikotun, Alimosho, Lagos.
VI.Foot Football Academy lost 2-4 to Adwaaik FA on Wednesday morning. With this defeat, VI.Foot FA have crashed out having lost 1-4 to defending champions, Seamoriow FA in the opening match held on Monday.
Royalty Athletic also crashed out after losing to Pumah 2-3 in their second match.Meanwhile Royalty Athletic lost 2-3 in their first game against ADHOC FA.
Both VI.Foot FA and Royalty Athletic Boys have been eliminated officially despite a match at hand.In other matches played on Wednesday morning, defending champions, Seamoriow fought like a wounded lion to defeat Dazzle FA 2-1.
Seamoriow Boys are the first team to book a Place in the quarter finals having won their opening match against VI.Foot FA.
Also ADHOC FA played 1-1 with Shuffle Select Boys but both teams would wait for their last game to know the teams that would qualify in Group B. The two teams have won their first game but they need to win their last game to stand a chance of reaching the last eight.
Action resumes on Thursday, Miracle FA face Fortune FA by 9am, Simario FA tackle Arewa Warriors by 10:45am, as Bucknor battle Super Accurate by noon, while B. United Boys tackle Victory FA by 1:30pm.
Match coordinator, Olayinka Olajide said this year’s edition has surpassed the previous editions in terms of organization and standard of play by the participants and also commended the match officials and other members of organising committee for their commitment to the championship.
Olajide however urged the teams that lost their two matches to honour their last game. He said the era of not honouring the last match having lost two matches is gone noted that any team fails to honour their last game would face disciplinary sanctions from the Lagos State Football Association, LSFA.
He also reminded the participants not to see the competition a do or die affair rather they should play the games according to the rules and regulations.
