General Manager of Oasis Football Club of Surulere, Jimo Shittu has expressed his delight with the progress of the team in the year 2026
Shittu while speaking with our correspondent explained that the club has done well in its assignments and commended the coaching crew led by coach Michael Harry and players for their cooperation and understanding which really helped the team to excel in some friendly matches.
“We may not win a trophy but our boys did well in recent friendly matches we played against teams like 36Lion, Sporting Bethel, Micro-Giant FC, Royal Empire, Abatan FC, Willijoe boys and others teams I cannot mention.
” In addition,we also participated in some scouting programmes that brought the best out of my players. If I want to assess the team, I can say the team are making steady progress than the previous years, “he said.
Shittu said part of the achievements of the club is that two of his players are currently playing with well known club in Lagos and he is happy with the performance of duo in their various clubs
He also mentioned Adams Ikepba and Anthony Kelechi who just returned from Benin Republic where they went for a trials with Benin clubs.
“Presently one of our players,Liadi Shafihi has joined Collins Edwin FC on loan and he is playing for the club in the ongoing 1XBET Cup. He has scored two goals so far in the competition.
“Secondly, our player,Joshua Olajide also played for Elite FA during the 1XBET Cup qualifying group stage and he did well for the club. If you look these two players and those who went to Benin Republic for trials , we are proud of them because they represented our club well during their trials and our two players who loaned to the clubs in Lagos also performed creditably well, “he said.
Meanwhile Oasis have started preparation for a scouting football programme scheduled for next month at Bariga Sports Complex.
Shittu disclosed that the scouting programme is another opportunity for him to showcase the team to the foreign scouts and urged the players to remain focused and steadfast during the scouting football programme.
