Team Manager of Samjason Football Club of Igando, Samuel Uchenna Eke has come out loud and clear that his team deserved to win the TREM Cup.
Eke disclosed this after his team defeated Team360 Football Club 2-0 in the TREM Cup final played last weekend at the YABATECH sports center,Lagos.
Commenting on the final, Eke said his players were not only at their best but they also showed commitment and dedication throughout the tournament.
He explained that their opponents are a good side but noted that his players were more determined and dogged to get the needed victory in the final.
“It was a hard fought victory because both teams gave good account of themselves but what make us to be outstanding was the commitment and dedication of the players and coaching crew which really helped us to win the Cup.I must confess that Samjason deserved to win it after playing in the past two finals and failed,”he said.
Team360 Coach, Shola Raji also commended his boys for their display but disappointed that his team failed to win the cup.
“I want to apologise to our fans for our defeat.We came to the match with the mind of winning.My boys gave everything to win the match unfortunately things did not work the way we wanted it.I congratulate Samjason for their hard fought victory and we would go back home to prepare for other future engagements.
In the presentation award, Samjason won most valuable player award, best coach award, fair play award and kelvin Sunday who is 16 years old won the highest goal scorer award for the winning team.
