Pecantrust MFB to Celebrate 10th Anniversary with Gala in Lagos

Pecantrust Microfinance Bank (MFB) will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a grand gala on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Lagos.

The event, themed around celebrating a decade of bridging financial gaps and building trust, will take place at the Grand Ballroom of Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Over the past 10 years, Pecantrust MFB has established itself as a trusted financial institution, empowering individuals, businesses, and communities through innovative financial solutions that promote resilience and sustainable growth.

Reflecting on the bank’s decade-long journey, the Senior Manager and Spokesperson, Mr. Kunle Karounwi, said the institution was founded with a clear vision to address the financial challenges faced by individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and growing businesses.

“When we started, the core mandate was clear. Too many individuals, SMEs, and growing businesses struggled to access prompt and flexible financial solutions. We set out to bridge that gap,” he said.

According to him, that vision has continued to drive the bank’s ambition of becoming Africa’s leading poverty alleviation-focused financial institution.

“Over the past decade, we’ve evolved into a resilient institution committed to empowering businesses, supporting economic development, and creating lasting value. Celebrating 10 years isn’t just about longevity; it represents a decade of delivering impact and earning the trust of thousands of customers,” Karounwi added.

Describing Pecantrust’s journey as one marked by resilience, innovation, and steady growth, he noted that while economic challenges and regulatory changes tested the institution over the years, they ultimately strengthened its resolve to build a sustainable and customer-focused financial institution.

Karounwi said Pecantrust MFB has grown into a reputable fintech-driven microfinance bank with a strong presence in Nigeria’s financial services sector, serving more than 100,000 customers across its target markets.

He attributed the bank’s success to continuous product innovation designed to meet the needs of Nigerians, highlighting offerings such as PecanPlus Micro Health Insurance, financial literacy programmes, and tailored SME loan products.

Speaking on the bank’s workforce, Karounwi said the institution’s growth has been intentional.

“We’ve grown from a relatively small team into a vibrant workforce of more than 30 highly skilled professionals, all dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service,” he said.

He added that the bank’s capital base has also expanded significantly through prudent financial management, shareholder commitment, retained earnings, and strategic reinvestment.

“These efforts have strengthened our balance sheet, positioning us to support larger transactions while meeting regulatory expectations,” he said.

Karounwi disclosed that all arrangements for the anniversary gala have been concluded, with captains of industry, government officials, business leaders, partners, stakeholders, and other distinguished guests expected to attend the celebration of Pecantrust MFB’s remarkable 10-year milestone.
