Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, LSFA, Liammed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Folashade Falokun on her appointment as the new Team Coordinator of Super Falcons of Nigeria ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to hold later in the month in Morocco.

Falokun was recently appointed as Team Coordinator for senior women national team by Nigeria Football Federation NFF.

Reacting to her appointment, Gafar said her appointment was well deserved and described Falokun a competent football administrator who has capacity and integrity to perform beyond expectations.

“Congratulations to Mrs Shade Falokun on her well-deserved appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the Coordinator of our beloved Super Falcons.

“This prestigious appointment is a fitting recognition of her years of dedication, competence, integrity, and outstanding service to football administration. We are confident that she will bring her wealth of experience and professionalism to this important national assignment,”he said.

Gafar in his congratulatory message thanked the leadership of NFF for recognising exceptional football administrator from Lagos with a key national responsibility saying that Falokun has what it takes to perform excellently well throughout the WAFCON tournament in Morocco.

“I also wish to sincerely commend the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation for once again recognizing and entrusting another exceptional football administrator from Lagos State with a key national responsibility. It is a clear demonstration that merit, hard work, and consistency continue to attract recognition at the highest level.

“Mrs Falokun’s appointment is yet another testament to the depth of administrative excellence that exists within Lagos football. It reinforces our belief that Lagos State Football remains a reservoir of talent, innovation, and endless possibilities for the growth and development of the game in Nigeria.

“Congratulations once again, Mrs. Shade Falokun. We wish you great success as you take on this important responsibility. Your success will undoubtedly be a source of pride to Lagos State and Nigerian football,”the statement concluded.
