The African Diaspora Union (AFRIDU) has announced the appointment of Her Regal Majesty Ambassador (Dr.) Olori Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi as the Special Envoy and African Queen Mother of AFRIDU.
AFRIDU President, Archbishop Prof. Chidiebere Anelechi Ogbu formally presented this prestigious appointment in a ceremony held at the Corinthians Villa, Abuja to honour and celebrate this significant milestone.
Her Regal Majesty, the wife of His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, represents the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of Ife, the cradle of all humankind. Her new role underscores her commitment to fostering unity, empowerment, and celebrating African heritage among descendants spread across the globe.
AFRIDU, established under the resolutions of the African Union and the United Nations, has been a beacon of hope and restoration for African descendants worldwide. Since its inception and registration by the South African Government in 2018, AFRIDU has tirelessly worked to reconnect African descendants with their roots, fostering a sense of belonging and pride.
In her acceptance remarks, Her Regal Majesty expressed deep gratitude and dedicated the appointment to her esteemed husband, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. She highlighted the unique place their heritage holds in history and the hearts of millions worldwide, while also affirming her dedication to the mission and vision of AFRIDU.
The upcoming “International Gathering in Honour of African Descendants in Diaspora Homecoming” in October 2024, to be hosted in Nigeria, will be a landmark event. This gathering aims to celebrate shared heritage, reaffirm identity, and commit to a prosperous future for all African descendants. It will bring together over 2,000 delegates from around the world, showcasing Nigeria as a premier tourist destination and a pilgrimage center for the Black world.
Her Regal Majesty’s appointment is a testament to her leadership, vision, and unwavering support for the African Diaspora community. She is committed to advocating for reparative justice, fostering an environment conducive to investment and growth, and attracting African Diaspora experts, professionals, scientists, entertainers, and academics back to Nigeria.

The African Diaspora Union (AFRIDU) is a Pan African Diplomatic Organization representing the descendants of African people. AFRIDU was established under the African Union’s resolution DIASPORA/ASSEMBLY/AU/DEC1 (1) of 2012 and the United Nations resolution 68/237 of 2013.
