Buruj Boss Commends Organizers of Italian Consulate General U-20 Football Tournament For Sucessful Programme

Founder of Buruj Football Club of Ikorodu,Waheed Salaudeen has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisers of football scouting tournament tagged “Italian Consulate General U-20 Football Tournament” for selecting his players for the final screening.

The scouting football programme which began recently at the Mobolaji Johnson popularly known as Onikan Stadium featuring eight invited teams across the state.

Six Buruj players were among the 40 players being selected by the football agents throughout the screening process.The final screening would hold this week at Onikan Stadium.

Speaking with our correspondent, Salaudeen said the screening football tournament witnessed different players from various clubs and commended the organisers for a thorough job to select best 40 players for final screening.

“First of all, I would like to appreciate the Italian Consulate General in Lagos, led by Ugo Boni, for organizing this wonderful tournament. I also commend Emmanuel Babatunde Omije and the entire Rudder Sports Management team, as well as Ken Enofe, for their efforts in making this competition a success.

“This tournament has been a fantastic platform for young players to showcase their talents, gain valuable experience, and interact with scouts and football stakeholders. Beyond football, it has promoted friendship, discipline, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Italy.

“At Buruj Football Club and Sports Academy, we are committed to developing young talents both academically and athletically. We are proud that some of our players have had the opportunity to participate and perform well in this competition.

“I encourage all the players to enjoy the moment, play with passion, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. Whether they win or lose, the experience gained here will contribute significantly to their growth and future careers.

“I believe this tournament will continue to open doors for young Nigerian talents and strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and Italy through sports. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of this event,”he said.

Salaudeen however said he is proud of his six players being selected for the screening process and urged them to remain focused and give their best as the screening exercise is reaching the final stage.

“We are proud of the performances of our players throughout the tournament. Young talents like Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, Fawas Ayomide Adeleke, inyang Edet Sunday, Malobi Ebubechukwu David, Bassey Favour Uwem and Ajayi Oluwasegun Oluwajuwon have shown great character and quality.

“We hope this exposure will help them continue their development and move closer to achieving their dreams of representing Nigeria at higher levels,”he concluded.
