Nigeria government through its Ministry of Water Resources has informed its 12 River Basin Authorities in the country to attend the second edition of Agritech Nigeria Osun 2024, an International Agricultural Technology Exhibition and Conferences scheduled to take place from 26-28 November 2024 in Osogbo, capital city of Osun state, southwest Nigeria
The 12 River Basin Authorities were established in 1976 by the Federal Government of Nigeria with the main objective of developing the water resources potential of the country for agricultural, domestic and industrial uses. Furthermore, they were to be involved in the maintenance of the various watersheds that they cover in Nigeria.
With the decision of the Federal Government to direct the river basin authorities to attend the Agritech Nigeria Osun 2024, it shows the government’s determination to ensure food security in the country.
Dr Taofeek Busari, General Manager, Business Development, Agritech Nigeria said the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria is good news and an opportunity for irrigation technology system manufacturers and distributors who plan to attend the event come November 26th to make bumper sales and deals during this mega event as the organizers are ready to link up these exhibitors with various water management policy and decision maker.
The last edition of the event tagged Agritech Nigeria Osun 2019 was a huge success as it was attended by Heads of Government, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of foreign countries such as Brazil, Israel, Venezuela, Cuba, Cote d’Ivoire, the Republic of Benin, Kenya and others, and also International Organisations – United Nations for Women, Ministers of Agriculture of some countries, representatives of Nigerian ministries and government departments and agencies, senior executives in banks and manufacturers attended the first edition of Agritech Nigeria Osun 2019
