Aliyu Hasaan was at his best for FC Agali following his two goals he scored against FC Dosu in the return leg of the ongoing round of 16 of the Nigeria Ex Internationals Cup, Lagos Chapter.
FC Dosu won their first leg 3-2 in Badagry last week but their retun leg was not too impressive as Agali boys were more determined, better and dogged throughout the enconter.
The highly entertained match which was held early on Friday at Border playground, Ojodu Berger,Lagos saw Aliyu Hasaan netted the opening goal for FC Agali in the 24th minutes.
Hasan’s goal increased the tempo of the game as both teams missed some scoring chances during the tie.The homers did everything but their efforts were thwarted by the determined FC Agali defenders and goalie.
The ten man FC Agali absorbed some level of pressure in the second half due to the defesive play they adopted.FC Dosu who made some changes in the second half missed some scoring chances that would have given them equaliser.
Hassan, who was adjudged man of the match scored his second goal through counter attack to seal victory for the away team.
Effort by FC Dosu to get a goal in the remaining minutes was abortive as FC Agali goalie made some saves to deny their opponents from scoring.
Reacting to this victory, former Super Eagles striker who was in charge of his team, Victor Agali, expressed gratitude to God for the hard fought victory and thanked his players for playing to instructions.
“It was a tough match for both teams but I can say we were a little bit lucky to have won the game. It was a sweet victory because we lost our home match and we came here to beat them and qualified on 4-3 aggregate. I thank my boys for the job well done,” he said.
