Madestone Academy Boss Mourns The Passing Of Legendary Goalie, Peter Rufai

Chairman of Madestone Football Academy, Tobi Olubiyi has joined millions of Nigerians to mourn the passing of legendary goalkeeper, Peter Rufai who died on Thursday morning at 61.

Rufai died on Thursday in Lagos after a brief illness.

In his press statement, Olubiyi described the sudden death of Rufai a sad loss for Nigerian football community saying that the late Rufai would be remembered forever.

“Peter Rufai is an household name for most people in my generation. It’s a sad loss for the Nigerian football community.

“He was a very gentle and pleasant man as I got the opportunity to meet him once. I pray God gives his family the strength to bear this loss,”the statement reads.

Madestone Football Academy is based in Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
