Prophet (Dr) Olusegun Joshua Adebayo, Founder and Presiding Shepherd of the Christ Apostolic World End-Time Revival Ministry, Lagos has been honoured as a Patron of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos Chapter. The Distinguished Revivalist and Prophetic Minister has also been given a Special Award of Recognition by the association.
The twin honours were bestowed on Prophet Adebayo at brief ceremony held at the Christ Apostolic World End-Time Revival Ministry, Lagos on Sunday.
Chairman of Lagos SWAN, Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, who led some members of the State Executive Council, who included Vice Chairman, Taiwo Adelu, Secretary, Omotunde Bello and some other members, described Prophet Adebayo as an epitome of life giving to mankind by the Almighty God in this End-Time.
According to Oladunni, Prophet Adebayo has distinguished himself as a fearless mouthpiece of God who is so much committed to, not only youth development in the Nigerian society, but a vessel giving hope to the hopeless and mankind in general.
Oladunni noted that sports is life and anybody who God has chosen to give life to the people , irrespective of his profession, is seen as a stakeholders in sportswriting fraternity.
“We are indeed blessed to bestowed on you the honour of being a Patron of Lagos SWAN. We craved to be among your numerous children spread across the world who will be under your spiritual covering to the Glory of God.
“Your moral and spiritual support are what we need at this period to take Lagos SWAN to its enviable heights,” Oladunni said.
In his remarks after he was decorated as the Patron of Lagos SWAN and received the award, Prophet Adebayo expresses his enthusiasm and appreciation of what Olatutu Oladunni and her Lagos SWAN did, adding that he cherished the honours.
He, however, reiterated that he will continue to give all necessary moral and spiritual backing to the association, even as he enjoined all members of the association to love one another as this is the only pathway to the greatness of Lagos SWAN.
He said just as Nigerian society have all what it takes as God-given resources to be a wealthy nation, but lack of God fearing, selfless and committed leadership, has been the bane of the development of the nation.
“Leadership of Lagos SWAN must prioritise welfare of the members, shun greedines and selfishness, and more importantly, members must love each other, if all these are in place, sports writers association in Lagos State, will be a leading light among other associations in the country,” Prophet Adebayo said.
