The much-anticipated 2026/27 Lagos Divisional Football League Season would kick off officially on Wednesday morning at the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle, Lagos.
A total of 18 teams have confirmed their readiness for the league which put together by the Lagos State Divisional Football Association, LSDFA under the leadership of Saheed Bakare.
In the fixtures released on Tuesday, Gidi Stars face Team 360 feeders by 9:30am, China Sun Stars tackle Elite Feeders by 11:30am as Divine Praise Feeders confront GSC by 1:30pm.
Action resumes on Thursday when Anthony City FA battle Honour FC by 9:30am as Baraka FA tackle Amsterdam FA by 11:30am.
A total of 18 teams registered for the league. nine teams were drawn in two groups and only the top two in each group would qualify for the super four league to determine the true champions that would represent the division in the state league next season.
During the recent draw and press conference held at the Campos Sport Centre,chairman of the division, Bakare tasked the participating teams to see the league a platform to showcase their talented players and steer clear any form of social vices during the league season.
He also wished the participants all the best in their outings and extended his appreciation to the FIFA badge referee,John Ojeleye and NPFL referee,Anu Balogun who taught the participants The New Laws Of The Game at the seminar.
He noted that their teaching had exposed the club owners, coaches and other football stakeholders who attended the seminar to know more about the New Laws Of The Game and admonished them to continue educating their players what they learned from the seminar before the season kicks off.
