Just like his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello, has been a good brother and friend of Ondo State, the incumbent Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is leaving nothing to chance to ensure that the cordial relationship between his state and Ondo State bears fruits of mutual respect and love.
To this end, the Governor is leading over 500 Ebira people to a mega rally organised by his people to drum support for the election of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa and his deputy, Dr Olayide Owolabi Adelami, mni, in the coming gubernatorial election in the state.
Governor Ododo arrived in Owo on Friday with a powerful delegation of All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders, including the Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, who is fondly called Dollar.
The mega rally, which will be held on Saturday, will start at 12 noon in Mobil Tarmac,Ijebu Owo.
Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Non-indigene affairs representing Ebira, Hon. Fatai Temise said the mega rally is just a token of the Ebira people’s support to Governor Ayedatiwa who has been a father to all non-indigenes in Ondo State.
“We want to show him we will be there for him before, during and after the election. We want to see him win this election because he has done so much for us.
“He has given a high premium to the affairs of non-indigenes in Ondo. This is the first time we see a governor of Ondo State appointing three Ebira, Hausa and Igbo in his cabinet as Special Advisers. That’s a good gesture and we want to use this rally to drum support for him and to say thank you Mr. Governor giving the Ebira people a place in his government. This rally will attract our brothers and sisters from Ikare, Akure and Odiaye,” Hon. Temise, who surprisingly facilitated the coming of Governor Ododo for the mega rally said.
Chairman of the Media Committee of the Owo Local Government Campaign Council, Mr Olatunbosun Oladimeji said all hands are on deck to ensure the success of the mega rally, adding that Owo and indeed Ondo State have been playing good hosts to non-indigenes, not only on the time of this present regime of Governor Ayedatiwa, but previous governments in the state.
According to Oladimeji, former Governor Yahaya Bello laid a good foundation to solidify the relationship between Kogi and Ondo State during the time of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
“We are happy that the incumbent governor, Alhaji Ododo, has taken a good cue from this,” he said.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Owolabi Omilani, while thanking Governor Ododo for coming to Owo for the rally, described the gesture as a big plus for the party leaders to receive the support from Ebira people. According to him, Ebira and other non-indigenes are part of the large community in Odo State whose votes are very important for the victory of APC in the coming election. He noted that the Governor and himself will forever be grateful for the support.
To Hon. Femi Idris, the Chairman of Ondo State Civil Service Commission, the collaboration between the good people of Kogi, and more importantly the Ebira people and the Ondo State will strengthen the APC family in Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
“There is power in unity and this unity is what we are taken to the election which will give us the desired result,” Idris said.
