The Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Female National Basketball team, D’Tigress, Rena Wakama, has expressed her joy and gratitude, working as the coach of the team.
Speaking during a press conference after the D’Tigress’ 83-65 win over Egypt, which also qualified the Afrobasketball defending champions for the quarter-finals, an obviously elated Wakama, remarked that her players were just amazing and a great group of determined and disciplined girls.
D’Tigress also made history in the game, scoring a record 71 rebounds that obviously took the winds off the sails of their Egyptian opposition.
“When I entered the lockers room after the game, I only said 71 rebounds. That’s a superb game.”
On the chances of the team going forward, she noted that the team is new and it’s a rebuilding process.
“This is a new team, and we can only get better. This is a process. We always strive for excellence. I am blessed to work with this team and of course, the leadership of the NBBF,” the highly regarded and youthful coach stated.
