FEDAN Football Club would face Leads United in the final of Humis Memorial football tournament sheduled to hold on Friday by 8am at the Federal Medical Center, Iyana-Era, Badagry Express Road, Lagos.
To reach the final stage, FEDAN defeated Tico FC 2-0 on penalties after 2-2 at the regulation time, while Leads United qualified for the final after defeating Young Stars 2-1 on penalties after one goal apiece at the regulation time.The two semis played on Monday.
Match coordinator, Sunday Ehon expressed satisfaction with the performance of all the eight teams who took part in the tournament saying that the competition has lived up to expectations.
Commenting on the final, Ehon disclosed that the closing ceremony would be colourful and glamorous noted that he had sent invitations to the important personalities to grace the grandfinale.
“I am very grateful that the tournament has reached the final stage without any violence during or after each match but what really almost affected this tournament is untimely death of Leader of Badagry Divisional Football Association BDFA,Late Osahon Emokpae whose team involved in the tournament.
“However I still give God all the glory and adoration for his mercies upon us and we would continue to remember Osahon for years to come,”Said Ehon who prayed for the family Osahon left behind.
Meanwhile the winners of the tournament would go home with the sum of N50,000 and trophy while the second position would collect a sum of N30,000 as prize money
