A total of 28 rooky football teams would begin hostilities in the first round of the Lagos State Challenge Cup popularly known as Lagos FA Cup.
The much anticipated biggest football tournament in the state would commence on 22th, January, 2025 at the across designated centres.
No fewer than 80 teams registered for male category as four teams would feature in the female category.
In the draws made on Wednesday at LSFA secretariat, 28 rooky teams would first play one another in the first round.
The opening match would be played between Kakawa FC and Royalty FC, Diadem Stallion FC tackle Arubinjaga FC, Dijon FA tackle Burna Boys.
Other matches are Prince Kazeem Eletu FC face Innovator FC, Hephziser FC face Fackson Tofida FC, Vido FC will confront Ibeju Lekki United FC, Seamoriow FC tackle Switch FC as Ona-Ara FC would keep a date with Ikorodu City FA.
FC Middlewell would face Seamoriow FA, China Sun Stars face FC Gemstone, Oba’s FA tackle Okaka Academy, Great Height battle Unification FC, L City confront Orin FC, Millennium Family FC would face Osykay FC in the last rooky matches.
Addressing at the draw conference, vice Chairman of LSFA, Adedotun Coker said this year’s edition would be better in terms of organization and officiating and urged participants to always abide by the rules governing the game.
Some of the participants who spoke to our correspondent expressed satisfaction with the draws and admonished the organisers to give all the teams level playground throughout the tournament.
