Nigeria Archery Federation Elects New Executives

*Mohammed Baba Abdullahi Returns As President

The Nigeria Archery Federation has elected new set of officials that will pilot the affairs of the Federation for the next four years.

The election which climaxed the 2024 NAFED Elective Congress held on March 2, 2024, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja saw Mohammed Baba Abdullahi re-elected as President with 16 votes as against his opponent, Mr. Emmanuel Oyeleke who had only 1 vote, while Engr. Augustine Chigbolu emerged as the 1st Vice President with 16 votes to beat Mr. Kachollom Enyenihi that scored only 1 vote.

Other elected exco board members include the 2nd Vice President, Mr. Oladipo Ogundele who polled 17 votes to defeat DSP Akogun A.A that had no vote, while Mr. Philip Olupomile emerged as the new Secretary General with 17 votes thereby displacing the former Secretary, Mr.Olugbenga Boluji who pulled no vote.

The post of Asst. Secretary went to Mr. Goodman Akwu Umar that defeated Ogunlana Ibrahim Seun with 17 votes to 0. Mr. Patrick Ibeh was re-elected as the Public Relations Officer with 16 votes, while Mr Rabiu Mohammed emerged as treasurer unopposed.

Other members include Mr. Aliyu Abubakar Garga (Athletes rep),Alh. Ibrahim Adamu (Northwest rep), DCP Hassan Gwani (Northeast rep), HRH. Dr. David Tukur, Mr. Andy Gabriel (North Central rep), HRM. Asibelua Ugo JP (South South rep), Oladipo Ogunleye (Southwest rep), Dr.Ogbonna Onyeisi, Dr. Jerry Onuegbu and MS Stella (Southeast rep).

The election was supervised by the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Federal Ministry of Sports Development.
