President of Nigeria Rugby League Association, Abiodun Olawale-Cole has tasked Nigeria’s female national rugby league team to remain steadfast and focused in their preparation ahead of their crucial two legged match against Kenya in the women’s rugby league world cup qualifiers scheduled for 19th and 22nd of September in Nairobi.
While addressing the players in camp on Tuesday, Olawale-Cole reminded the players the task ahead and explained the importance of the two-legged match to the association and the country at large.
“I was in in their camp on Tuesday and I was impressed with the commitment of the players ahead of their world cup qualifying match against Kenya.I also let the players know the importance of this coming matches so I strongly believe that they would make us proud in Kenya,”he said.
Olawale-Cole charged the players to give all their best in camp and secure a qualification ticket and become first African team that qualify for the women’s rugby league world Cup.
“The world cup qualifying match is very important because if we qualify, Nigeria would go to inaugural competitions called the world series so all hands much be on deck to secure a qualification ticket in Nairobi.
“It is important to note that if we beat Kenya,our sponsors would be proud of us and they would like to do more for the team so this match is very important and we must secure our world cup ticket in Kenya,”said Olawale-Cole who commended the coaching crew for their efforts on the players since the camp opened last week.
