A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Prince Hammed Olanrewaju Mohammed said Nigeria would be better off under the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Prince Mohammed, a former Financial Secretary of Lagos APC said at the weekend that the current government is committed to the well-being of the people, adding that very soon the good people of Nigeria will start to see the benefits of democracy and good governance in Tinubu.
“President Tinubu has prepared well for the task ahead and he loves this country,” said Prince Mohammed, who was the former Youth Leader of Lagos Central Senatorial District, adding “the pain we are going through right now will turn into blessings very quickly.
“Nigerians may be going through a difficult time right now, but I can assure our people that better days are ahead,” he said.
Regarding the fuel subsidy removal, Mohammed, who is a pillar of the APC in Lagos Mainland Local Government, said that the fuel subsidy removal was necessary to reduce waste. He admitted that the country could not live on fuel subsidies, adding that what the Tinubu government had done was a good step in the right direction.
“I know that Nigerians are suffering from the elimination of subsidies due to high fuel prices, but the fact is that this country cannot continue to subsidize neighboring countries’ fuel at the expense of the government. I want to make sure that Nigerians will benefit from this government sooner than before,” said.
While speaking at the press conference, the President of the hotelier’s association in Lagos, Oluomo Talabi Jamiu, expressed his satisfaction with the current government and called on Nigerians to provide Tinubu with the necessary support to move the country forward.
He noted that the government was off to a good start by scrapping subsidies and tax breaks for manufacturing companies, adding that the move would help boost economic growth and lower the country’s unemployment rate.
