Sponsor of the forthcoming The Rising Stars Football League has announced sum of N11 million for the winners of the league scheduled to kick off next month across various centers in Lagos State.
Chairman Badagry Divisional Football Association, BDFA, Dr Martins Osondu confirmed that his division would organise the league in conjunction with the management of The Rising Stars League, adding that 96 teams are expected for the league.
“This is biggest prize money in any developmental football league in Lagos with a lof of benefits. We are expecting 96 teams to feature in the knockout league format and when we get to round of 12, we would now play the league proper.
“Any team that qualify for the round of 48 would be presented set of Jersey and souvenirs for the job well done.
“When the league gets to round of 12, coaches must wear suits to all their league games and the suit will be provided for them by the Rising Stars League management committee. The league best coach gets N1 million. All 12 teams get N20,000 per league game as appearance fees.
“In addition, any team that win per league game gets #50,000 instantly at the venue immediately after the game as winning bonus (in cases of draw both teams gets #25,000 each for the draw bonus which is different from the N20,000 appearance fees,” he said.
Osondu also revealed that man of the match in each league game gets N15,000, while player of the week gets N25,000.
He further said player of the month would get the sum of N50,000 ( calculate player of the month after every 4 matches)
The BDFA boss noted that N25,000 would be given to team of the week while the super four winners would receive the sum of N11m
Meanwhile, the registration form is free and only 96 teams would be considered for the league.
