The Standup for Women Society (SWS) has congratulated its Founder and National President, Barrister Deborah Ijadele-Adetona, on her recognition as a “Global Woman of Influence” at a prestigious award ceremony held in Singapore on September 19, 2026.
In a congratulatory message issued by the Office of the Deputy Director-General, Media, Publicity and Communication, the National Executives, State Chapters and members of SWS across Nigeria and in the Diaspora described the honour as a fitting recognition of Ijadele-Adetona’s years of dedicated service, courageous leadership and commitment to advancing the welfare and dignity of women and girls.
The Society said the international recognition was a testament to her unwavering passion for empowering women, protecting vulnerable members of society and giving a voice to those who are often marginalised and voiceless.
According to SWS, Ijadele-Adetona has transformed the organisation from a vision into a formidable movement with growing impact, reaching and restoring hope and dignity to women and girls across Nigeria.
“Your life and leadership continue to inspire us to be bold, compassionate and committed to justice, while standing firmly as a voice for vulnerable women and girls in our society and the nation at large,” the Society said.
SWS further commended its National President for bringing honour to Nigeria and serving as an inspiration to women within the organisation and beyond.
“Ma, you have made Nigeria proud. You have made every SWS woman proud. You have made womanhood proud,” the statement added.
The Society expressed confidence that the global recognition would open new opportunities for Ijadele-Adetona to expand her advocacy and humanitarian work internationally.
It also prayed that the award would mark the beginning of further global recognitions and greater platforms through which she could continue to contribute to the advancement of women, girls and humanity.
The National Executives, State Chapters and entire membership of SWS therefore joined in celebrating their National President, describing the occasion as a moment of pride for the organisation and the women whose lives have been touched by her leadership.
