Chekas United feeders on Wednesday morning lost 0-2 to Emaljus Football Club in week 17 of the Lagos State League at Jakande football field, Ajangbadi, Ojo local government, Lagos.
Emaljus boys who were desperate for victory started the match on a good note as they enjoyed ball possession and created some scoring chances in early encounter of the game. A shower of praises went to Chekas keeper who made some saves to deny his opponents from goal scoring in the first half.
Chekas boys also entered the game with high expectations got few scoring chances but failed to convert it n the first half of the encounter.
The second half was more tough for Chekas boys as the homers pushed forward to get the goal. Their effort was rewarded in the 55th minutes when Sulfian Lawal scored for Emaljus.
The goal prompted visiting team to redouble their efforts making the match tough for the homers. Both teams lived up to expectations, in their performance,created some scoring chances as fans of Emaljus were anxious throughout the encounter watched by mammoth crowd.
A goal from Yayah Wasiu in added time was a big relief for the Emaljus and the fans who were under pressure throughout the pulsating tie.
Meanwhile Hephzibah feeders walkovered their opponents,FC Gemstone on Tuesday at Abesan Sports Center. FC Gemstone may face disciplinary committee of the league following their failure to honour their away match.
Our correspondent, who was at the match venue, saw the match officials and coordinator on ground. The officials waited for almost an hour before walkover was done. Hephzibah boys recorded three points against FC Gemstone who failed to honour their match.
