The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday confirmed Rimini Makama and Abraham Oshadami as new commissioners of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
Makama, known for her expertise in public relations and stakeholders, will serve as the executive commissioner responsible for stakeholder management.
Meanwhile, Oshadami, who has experience in engineering and technology, will be a member of the administrative technical commission. Their appointment in marks an important step towards strengthening the leadership of Nigeria’s telecommunications regulator.
After extensive review by the Senate Communications Committee, the nominees were approved. At the plenary meeting, the committee’s recommendations were presented by Zamfara Central Senator Aliyu Bilbis. The Senate reviews and confirms nominees based on detailed committee reports.
Bilbis admits that Makama and Oshadami are well suited to their roles. With the assistance of the Joint Committee, their appointments were unanimously approved by the Senate headed by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
