Seamoriow U-15 Tourney: Pumah, Future Stars, Sammy Record Big Wins

Day one of the Seamoriow U-15 Football Championship which kicked off in Lagos has produced a lot of goals as some academies whitewashed their opponents in their group opener.

The championship which is being sponsored by Mr Amos Oluwaseyi began on Tuesday at the Seamoriow Sports Complex, Ikotun Abaranje Road, Alimosho, Lagos.

Pumah Academy came to the championship with a lot of determination as they whitewashed North York FA 7-2 to send warning signals to other opponents in their group.

Future Stars 99 also thrashed Austenplus 6-0, while Sammy FA came from behind to defeat Super Accurate 4-1 in their group match as Seamoriow FA played goalless draw with African Future Stars.

The third edition of Seamoriow U-15 Football Championship did not only live up to expectations but also attracted football fans from various communities to watch football at the grassroots level.

Commenting on the Day one of the championship, sponsor, Amos expressed delight with the standard of play by the teams noted that this year’s edition would suparss previous editions.

He also commended the organizing committee for working round the clock to make the opening match very colourful one and extended his appreciation to fans who took their time to appreciate the young players while playing.

“I must confess that all the matches I watched today really live up to billing.We have seen beautiful goals scored by good players.This is to tell you that the future of these young footballers is bright if they can continue like this.,” he said.

Vice chairman of the Lagos State Football Association LSFA, Dotun Coker could not hide his feeling with the football artistry being displayed by the young kids.He also applauded the performance of the players noted that the LSFA is committed to grassroots football development in the state.

Meanwhile, four matches will be played on Wednesday in Day Two of the championship.
