Seamoriow Football Academy on Sunday afternoon pocketed the sum of N1.5million after defeating defending champions, B-united Football Academy in the final of U-15 Seamoriow Football League Championship.
Seamoriow Boys were on rampage following 6-1 victory over B United in the encounter watched by thousands of fans at the Seamoriow Sports Complex, Abaranje Road, Ikotun, Alimosho, Lagos.
Toba Isiah opened the goal account in the 4th minutes to give Seamoriow Boys early lead.The goal spurred both teams to intensity their game but Sunday Victor converted the second goal to send Seamoriow fans into wild jubilation.
With the two goals advantage, Seamoriow were in control of all departments as Oloko Joseph recorded third goal to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.
B United who were not impressive in the encounter continued to struggle but Seamoriow defence was too strong to break before the first half ended.
Sunday Victor three quick goals in the 47th,57th and 58th minutes was Seamoriow needed to emerge as champions for the first time.
B United also scored consolatory goal in 53th minutes through Yusuf Taofeek to end the game 6-1 in the full time.
Reacting to the defeat, B United Coach,Femi Durosomo expressed disappointment with the performance of his boys saying that the result of the match was very scandalous and blamed his players for not living up to expectations.
“I am disappointed with the outcome of result.We came here to retain the title won last year unfortunately we met a team that are solid and compact in all departments.
“Our defeat today(Sunday) was as a result of some of our key players who came to the match venue late so I congratulate our opponents for this historic victory and I hope we would be better in the next edition,”he said.
In his own remark , Seamoriow Coach, Peter Mathew said the victory was well deserved and congratulated his boys for the job well done.
He also thanked the fans for their unwavering support given the team throughout the competition.
In the third place match played earlier, Adhoc FA defeated 36 Lion 3-1 to become a second runner up.
The champions received a sum of N1.5miilion naira, while B United and Adhoc FA pocketed N800,000 and N500,000 respectively.
