The ongoing Ikoyi-Obalende Principal Cup Pre Season football tournament has reached the final stage.
The competition whick kicked off two weeks ago at the Wahab Folawiyo High School was put together by Ikoyi-Obalende Football Coaches Council under the leadership Olayinka Shokoya.
According to the semi final matches played on Wednesday, Falomo school defeated Ilado school 2-1, while Akande school beat Ikoyi school 5-4 on penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time in the junior girls category.
In Junior boys category,Falomo lost to Ikoyi school 4-2 on penalties after barren draw in full time, while Wahab Folawiyo High School also defeated Akande school 3-0 on penalty shootout.
In the senior girl’s category, Falomo school humbeld Ikoyi school 1-0, while Maroko school beat Akande school 5-4 on penalty shootout.
In the senior boys category, Maroko school also defeated Akande 5-4 on penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time, while Wahab Folawiyo High school beat GOCOVI school 4-2 on penalty shootout after barren draw in full time.
Meanwhile the final matches would hold on Friday while all the third place matches would hold on Thursday (Today).
Shokoya in a chat with our correspondent said the tournament was organised to prepare the schools for Lagos Principal Cup.
He also explained that the tourney has really helped the participating schools to discover some talents in their various schools ahead of Lagos Principal Cup.
He however thanked the members of Ikoyi Obalende Football Coaches Council for their effort and commitment since competition started saying that the tourney has really lived up to expectations in terms of organisation and standard of play by the participants.
