The venue was the Banquet Hall of the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja on Tuesday when the government of Mr. Bababjide Sanwo-Olu played host to the young athletes who represented the state at the recently held National U-15 Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

The Governor, who was outside the state to attend other pressing national assignments, has to commission the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadiri Hamzat to stand in for him to give the athletes the state honour.

Independent News Express reports that the youngsters were so excited and happy meeting the state number two citizen amid pomp at the State House and they were glad listening to his words of encouragement at the reception.

“This is indeed what we will all remember for a very long time to come,” said Beauty Oyero, a young golfer, who won silver medal in Asaba.
