The proprietor and president of Nigeria football league side Ottasolo football club, Otunba Gabriel Davies Gbenukoto, has joined the illustrious list of winners at the 8th Edition of the prestigious annual City Merit Awards.
The football club owner and successful businessman received his award as ‘Most Valuable Sport Personality 2023’, in a twin-event that also saw his elegant wife, Mrs. Olaitan Gbenukoto celebrating her 40th birthday anniversary.
Speaking on the award, President and National Coordinator of Bulfazi Media Services, the organisers of the annual awards, Asiwaju Akeem Busari, remarked that Otunba Gabriel Davies is deserving of the award, in view of his immense and selfless contributions to the socio-economic development of Nigeria, using sports as a veritable tool.
While expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the organisers for the award, he added that it would further encourage him to do more for the youths of the country, and particularly, the society.
“I’m very grateful for this award. It is a due recognition for my modest contributions to the development of football and the Nigerian society. This would surely encourage me to do more for the betterment of Nigeria football and the socio-economic growth of Nigeria,” the former star player of Stationery Stores of Lagos and Mogas 90 of Benin, fondly called Ottasolo, stated.
