Director of Atico Football Club Academy, Prince Wale Atiba has expressed confidence that his boys would reach the quarter final stage of the ongoing Cardinal James Odunmbaku Gold Cup taking place across designated centres in the state.
Atico Football Academy would face Saxboy academy on Saturday by 2pm at the Omole Estate football pitch,Ikeja, Lagos.
A winner between the two teams would play Bucknor in the quarter final stage.
Atiba disclosed that his boys are in good spirit to face their opponents saying that anything short of victory would be a huge disappointment.
“There is nothing i can tell my boys and coaching crew than to go for victory.This is a crucial stage and we cannot afford to lose our next game.We need to progress in this tournament by making sure that we win our remaining matches,”he said.
In the other quarter final matches pairings,Horobo FC face Viktoria FC, while Igando boys tackle Peculiar FC at the Ejigbo sports center.
In one of the quarter finals played at the Ikorodu center, Glory Boys defeated Ayomiposi FC 2-1 to reach the semi final stage.
Tournament cordinator, Sulaiman Gbadamosi expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and urged them to shun vices that can affect the image of the competition.
