ADOSAG International Football Club of Ikorodu would tango King Best Football Club of Igando in the final of Cardinal James Odunmbaku Gold Cup.
In the semi final played recently, ADOSAG beat Sizoko FC 4-3 on penalty shootout after one goal apiece at the regulation time, while King Best also defeated Samjason 5-4 on penalty shootout after one one goal apiece in the full time.
Speaking ahead of the final, chairman ADOSAG, Adeshina Adetunji David expressed delight with the final ticket boasting that his team are ready for the final.
“Let me thank my players and coaching crew for their commitment to this tournament.We had a tough matches on our way to the final and I thank God today that we were able to overcome the challenges.
“I won’t forget to thank our fans in Ikorodu and other part of Lagos for their unwavering support given to us and I am very optimistic that we would deliver the trophy to our fans at the end of the day,”he said.
In his own comment, King Best Coach, Kazeem Obayemi admitted that their match against Samjason was the toughest match but said they were lucky during the penalty shootout.
Obayemi said they are not in final for jamboree boasting that they are ready to take their opponents to cleaners.
“It was good outings for us and we have won tough teams on our way to final so I am targeting the trophy and my boys are in best form of their lives to confront their opponents in the final,”he said.
Meanwhile match coordinator, Sulaiman Gbadamosi expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competition and reminded the teams to pay their fines before the final.
