NOC Women Commission Celebrates International Women’s Day

Over 100 participants
featured at the Nigeria Olympic Committee Women Commission INSPIRE INCLUSION programme held at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos on Saturday 23 March, 2024 in observance with the International Day for Women.


Aimed at empowering women in our society, programme attracted women from all profession, including doctors teachers, members of the armed forces, Police, Immigration Customs, Civil servants, administrators, Coaches, and athletes.


To the extent that one of the athletes that won a bronze medal for Nigeria at the 13th Africa Games in Accra Ghana also participated.


Overwhelmed by the large turnout of participants, the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Engr. Habu Gumel, who was represented by the 4th Vice President, Mrs. Olabisi Joseph (President, Nigeria School Sports Federation) and Mrs Kemi Obidaunsi, Head of Youth and Women at the NOC, urged women to be actively involved in sports and advised them to also encourage their spouse and family members to do the same.


Held under the auspices of the Nigeria Olympic Committee Women Commission, the event involved aerobics, 5km jogging around the stadium and skill display. It was rounded off with a health talk which involved questions, BP and health check.
