Samuel Ezeh two goals in each half gave Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club hard fought victory against 5th Avenue Football Club in the Nationwide League One U-19 youth League taking place at the Maracana Sports Centre, Ajegunle, Lagos.
The match which held on Sunday noon ended 3-2 in favour of Eletu boys who fought hard to record the three points in a group of ten teams.
Ezeh who was adjuged man of the match was a flesh In thorn of their opponents as he produced classical football display throughout the high tension soaked match.
After Abraham Chiwetalu scored the opening goal in the 30th minutes,Ezeh scored the second goal for Eletu boys who outplayed their opponents in the first half.
The second half was tensed as both teams raised the tempo of the game. Oladele Daniel reduced the tally in the early second half to put the pressure on Eletu boys.
A penalty was awarded to 5th Avenue boys and was quickly converted by Ifeanyi Okoro to level the game.The equaliser spurred Eletu to pile pressure on their opponents until Ezeh scored the winning goal through header to seal victory for his team in the 73th minutes.
Jude Obasi goal in the 87th minutes was disallowed as assitant referee signalled the offside that could be the fourth goal of Prince Kazeem Eletu.
Reacting to Eletu victory, Ezeh expressed his delight with his performance saying that the victory was well deserved and described the game a tough one.
He noted that his two goal would spur him to work had and assured his fans to expect more goals from him in subsequent matches.
Commenting on the defeat,5th Avenue Coach, Rotimi Iyegbu said both teams played better but better side won. He also admitted hat his defence was not coordinated which gave their opponents upper hand to win the match.
He however urged his players to remain focused in their their next game and congratulated Eletu for his well deserved victory.
