The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), in collaboration with SWEDFUND and Ookla, is set to convene the Nigeria Digital Connectivity Investment Forum 2026 in Abuja from September 29 to 30, bringing together key stakeholders to explore new investments and sustainable solutions for expanding digital connectivity across Nigeria.
The two-day forum is expected to provide a platform for policymakers, investors, technology companies, development partners and other industry stakeholders to engage on strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and accelerating connectivity nationwide.
With digital connectivity increasingly central to economic growth, public services and industrial development, discussions at the forum will focus on unlocking investment opportunities while fostering stronger collaboration between government and the private sector.
The organisers said the forum will feature policy dialogue, investment opportunities, industrial collaboration and sustainable connectivity solutions, with stakeholders expected to examine practical approaches to closing existing connectivity gaps.
The event is also expected to facilitate engagement between investors and key players in Nigeria’s digital ecosystem, potentially creating opportunities for partnerships and new projects in broadband infrastructure, digital services and related areas.
The collaboration between the NCC, SWEDFUND and Ookla is expected to bring together regulatory, investment and data-driven perspectives to discussions on the future of Nigeria’s connectivity landscape.
Beyond policy discussions, the forum is designed to encourage collaboration around sustainable models for digital infrastructure deployment, particularly in areas where connectivity remains limited.
The NCC has continued to emphasise the importance of broadband and digital infrastructure to Nigeria’s wider digital economy, while stakeholders in the sector have increasingly focused on investment, infrastructure sharing, data and innovative financing as tools for expanding access.
The Nigeria Digital Connectivity Investment Forum 2026 will therefore provide an opportunity for stakeholders to examine the investment environment, identify areas of collaboration and discuss policies capable of supporting the next phase of Nigeria’s digital connectivity development.
The Abuja forum is expected to attract representatives from government, the telecommunications and technology industries, investors, development institutions and other organisations with interests in Nigeria’s digital transformation.
