As the registration of Lagos State Challenge Cup is drawing nearer,more than 50 clubs have registered for the biggest annual football tournament in the state.
Secretary of Lagos State Football Association LSFA, Rabiu-Okikioposu Akeem disclosed this while chatting with our correspondent on Wednesday afternoon.
He confirmed that more than 50 clubs in the state have completed their registration forms saying that the registration forms would be finally close on Friday.
“I cannot give you actual number of teams that completed their registration forms but i can authoritively tell you that more than 50 clubs have submitted their registration forms.
“We all know that Nigeria Football Federation NFF had extended the closing date of registration till Friday and i don’t think it would be extended again.Any club owner that want to register can still do it before Friday,”he said.
Akeem also disclosed that less than ten female clubs registered for the state challenge cup.
Meanwhile Ikorodu City are the current champions in male category and FC Robo Queens are champions of female category.
