The Executive Committee of Lagos chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the newly elected chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Fouad Alade Oki and other elected officers in the election conducted early today the Onikan Stadium on Lagos Island.
Oki defeated his main challenger, former vice chairman of the FA, Tade Adegboyega Azeez in a landslide victory of 13 votes to 1. The new chairman of Lagos FA, an ardent advocate of grassroots sports took over from Barrister Seyi Akunwunmi.
Also elected is Mr. Liameed Gafar, owner of 36 Lions, who emerged as the Vice Chairman after defeating Dotun Coker with resounding 10-4 votes.
The Lagos SWAN Chairman Olatutu Oladuni, the executive and the entire members of the association congratulate and other elected officers for their sounding victory at the polls.
According to Olatutu, Lagos SWAN would continue to support the newly elected board of the Lagos FA in its positive reportage of the activities of the FA across the state.
“We will continue to make the mutual relation stronger and better. Congratulations to all the elective board members of the Lagos Football Association,” Lagos SWAN Chairman said.
Before the election, the odds had favoured Oki with many members and football stakeholders in the seeking for fresh breath of new ideas.
Oki was Born and bred in Lagos. He has worked in various strata of administration and governance within the state level. He is a seasoned public administrator and alumni of Kean college of New Jersey and Georgetown university in the USA.
