A group of genuinely concerned football stakeholders under the aegis of Lagos Football Stakeholders have reacted to the false alarm raised by a group of disgruntled individuals who are hell bent on retaining the unimpressive status quo of Lagos football, over the just concluded DFA Elections, ahead of the Lagos FA Elective Congress.
It was reported by an online publication that thugs and fake policemen were brought to the Lagos DFA Elections to intimidate the opposition by the camp of a chairmanship candidate.
However, a member of the Lagos football stakeholders has reacted strongly to the said publication, describing it as defeatist and a miscalculated attempt to provoke emotions and sympathy, having seen defeat looming large, at the FA Elections slated for May 24, 2023, at a yet to be announced venue.
“It’s shameful and despicable for any sensible persons to start crying foul, after their failed efforts to smuggle fake delegates into the DFAs elections. And rightfully too, the fake delegates, namely Wilson Otitoaja and Cosmos, were arrested and detained by police officers from Area C Command, Surulere.
“The signs and handwriting is clear that Lagos football stakeholders including ex-footballers, coaches, referees and club owners are tired of the past 12 years of football administration in Lagos State, which was nothing but stagnation and of course, propagation of greed, corruption and selfish agendas.
“We want a new government. Not a continuation of lawlessness and impunity by a desperate clique, who have the temerity to boast that they can disqualify Governor Sanwo-Olu, if he attempts to contest the FA Elections,” he added.
