Sixteen teams are expected to take part in the Ileya Football Tournament which begins next month at the Igando Palace playground, Alimosho, Lagos.
The tournament is organised by Prince Gas Global Sportd Concept in conjunction with Kasali Qudus who promised to sponsor prize money for the winners.
Chairman Organising Committee,Prince Gbadamosi Adebola Sulaimon said the competition is free age and urged the club owners to come for their registration form.
“We are starting preparation for Ileya Cup whick kicks ofd 24th May.Presently some club have shown interest, while some have completed their registration forms.Our target is 16 teams and once the numbers have completed, we would go for draws proper.
“I am using this medium to call on any interested club owner to get their registration form before closing date,”he said.
He also commended the sponsor, Kasali who is currently playing his professional football in Europe saying that his finacial support would go a long way to make the tournament a competitive one.
“Our financier, kasali has promised to give the sum of N300,000 to be shared among the best three clubs in the tournament. He is doing this as a way of giving back to community and also wants to contribute his own quota to the football development in Igando,” he said.
