The much-anticipated Ileya football tournament would begin on Friday at the Igando proposed palace playground, Igando, Alimosho, Lagos.
A total of 16 teams would battle for the honours in the next one month.The competition is being sponsored by Qudus Kasali who is currently playing his professional football career in Europe.
Two matches would be played on Friday as Wolves face Imafidon FC,while Fountain of Life tackle King Best FC.
On Saturday, action resumes as Super Accurate FC taken on Kings FC.On Sunday, Future Stars 99 battle Bucknor FC as Sammy FC confront Sterling FC.
Match cordinator, Sulaiman Gbadamosi while addressing the participants remainded them the rules governing the competition and urged the players and coaches to be of good ambassadors of their clubs.
He said punishment would be meted to the teams that violate the rules saying that the era of harrssing match officials and cause trouble during the match has gone.He strongly warned teams to maintain the laid down rules throughout the competition.
“This competition would be different from our previous tournaments, and we cannot continue to condone any form of indiscipline during and after the match. Our disciplinary commiittee is set up to take decisive actions on any team misbehave during the game,” he said.
