Chairman of Ikorodu Divisional Football Association (IDFA) Alhaji Lukman Sonibare says he is confident to win in the forthcoming divisional elections scheduled to hold on 17,May at LSFA secretariat.
Ikorodu DFA poll chairmanship seat would be contested between incumbent chairman, Sonibare and Coach Ibiyemi Alegunleye Adeleke popularly known as Coach Pepper.
Sonibare in a chat with our correspondent on phone said he is coming out to finish his programmes he had started some years ago saying that there is no vacancy in the chairmanship seat of Ikorodu DFA.
“I have declared my intention some weeks ago and i am impressed with the support i am getting from the football stakeholders in Ikorodu.Part of my programmes are youth football development,overrall football development which are very key in my adminstration,”he said.
Sonibare further revealed that he would not stop at the football development but continue to embark on female football development and there would be a seminars or workshops for coaches and refrees who are major stakeholders if i am elected,”he said.
Sonibare disclosed that his achievements since he became chairman of division cannot be ignored noted that Ikorodu football has come of age during his own tenure.
“My board members and my humble self have done well.Time has come to continue the good work we started years ago to complete it.
Let me officially use this medium that i have declared my intention to run for the chairmanship seat and i am confident that i would return as elected Chairman Insall Allah,” said Sonibare who commended his board members for their support throughout his tenure as leader of the division.
