Magboro head coach, Gani Shobola has expressed disappointment with the officiating which led to their defeat against Tops FC in the week nine of the ongoing Ikeja Divisional Football Super League.
Tops FC defeated visiting team, Magboro 1-0 on Wednesday at the Rehabilitation sports center, Isheri-Oke, Ojodu Berger,Lagos.
The pulsating tie saw the home team scored early goal through Ugochukwu Benjamin but effort by away team to equalise proved abortive as Tops FC ran away with the victory.
Although Magboro scored in the 67th minutes but was disallowed by assistant refreee which did not go down well with the Magboro coaching crew.
Shobola who was frowned over the poor officiating alleged the assistant refree of biased officiating and urged the organisers to pick competent officials ahead of the second stanza of the league.
“This is not a good officiating we saw today. We scored a clean goal and referee, and his assistant disallowed it. I have lodged my official complain to the Ikeja Divisional Chairman who watched the game. I have lost home and away matches before and i don’t complain about officiating but our match against Tops FC on Wednesday was a day light robbery,” he said.
Shobola said their reverse fixture against Tops FC would be a revenge mission for his team and warned their opponents to forget the victory or draw when they clash in the next two weeks.
Commenting on the officiating,Tops coach,Gbenga Ajayi said the officiating was quite impressive and commended the officials for job well done.
“Our tactic worked for us and it was a sweet victory because we needed this game to brighten our chance on the table.I don’t want to believe that the officiating was bad.Their goal was offside which was very glaring.Magboro did not beat me before and i am still going to beat them again in their home,”he boasted.
