Organisers of the just concluded U-13 and 15 Holiday Gold Cup have commended the finalists for their impressive performance and spirit of sportsmanship exhibited during the finals which was held at Ijegun football pitch, Alimosho, Lagos.
In the final of U-13 category, Dynamic Force boys defeated Junior Agas boys 5-4 on penalties after 3-3 at the regulation time, while Super Accurate demolished Sammy FA 2-0 to win U-15 category.
Chairman organising committee, Haruna Samuel has expressed his utmost delight with the standard of play by the finalists noted that the closing ceremony lived up expectations despite heavy downpour.
He explained that the finalists did not only live up to expectations but they exhibited spirit of sportsmanship teams were really commended by the mammoth crowd who witnessed the colourful finals.
“Despite the heavy downpour, the finalist in both categories played good football and they deserved to be in the final.On behalf of the committee,I congratulate them for the impressive performance displayed during the finals and particularly the teams that emerged as winners, ” he said.
At the award presentation of U-13 category, Oluwasegun Samuel of Dynamic Force won Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, Jimoh Muhammed of Agas FA won Highest Goal Scorer. Best Coach award went to Dynamic Force coach, Martins Lawrence, while Mos Valuable Player went to Abdullahi Ibrahim of Dynamic Force FA.
In U-15 category, the Best Goalkeeper award went to Promise Kenneth of Sammy FA, Akudo Chibuzor of Super Accurate won Highest Goal Scorer award, while Super Accurate Coach, Idris Oseni won Best Coach of the tournament as Olanrewaju Qoyum of Super Accurate won Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Meanwhile FIFA badge referee, John Tope Ojeleye and top grassroots football organise in Alimosho, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamonsi won Special Recognition Award for their invaluable contributions to grassroots football and service to humanity.
