Former Television Continental (TVC) News broadcaster and sports talent manager, Tobi Peters, has successfully brokered a major European transfer for Nigeria’s highly-rated young footballer, Janet Seimenya, who has completed a three-year deal with Portuguese champions Benfica.
Peters, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of FCSM Global Services, facilitated the transfer of the Falconets star, regarded as one of the most valuable players in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), marking another milestone in his growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading football talent managers.
The move comes months after an earlier attempt to secure Seimenya’s transfer to Spanish giants Barcelona. Peters had travelled to Spain in January to finalize negotiations, but the proposed switch collapsed after the midfielder suffered a serious ankle injury just days before her scheduled trip.
Despite the setback, Peters remained committed to the player’s career, helping her recover and eventually sealing the transfer to Benfica, where she is expected to continue her development at one of Europe’s most successful women’s football clubs.
A Career Built on Football Excellence
Before establishing himself as a respected football talent manager, Tobi Peters built a successful career in journalism as a broadcaster with TVC News. He later transitioned into sports management, founding FCSM Global Services Nigeria in 2016, a company dedicated to athlete representation, brand management and image development across Africa.
Over the years, Peters has worked alongside some of Nigeria’s most celebrated football personalities. His professional network includes legendary Super Eagles stars Rashidi Yekini, Peter Rufai, and Mutiu Adepoju.
He also collaborated with renowned football agent John Ola Shittu, the longtime representative of former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi. Building the Asisat Oshoala Brand
One of Peters’ most notable achievements has been his role in building the commercial profile of six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala.
Through FCSM Global Services, he secured several high-profile endorsement deals for the Super Falcons legend with leading brands, including Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Coca-Cola, DStv, Kwesé TV, PayPorte, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Amstel Malta, and an ambassadorial partnership with the Lagos State Government.
In another landmark achievement, Peters became the first talent manager to secure television commercial appearances for five Super Falcons players ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The campaign featured veteran defender Onome Ebi and several other national team stars, providing unprecedented commercial exposure for members of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team.
