FirstBank Sports Complex in Lagos Undergoes Major Renovation Ahead of Facility Upgrade

FirstBank Sports Complex in Satellite Town

The FirstBank Sports Complex in Satellite Town, Lagos State, is undergoing extensive renovation as part of efforts to modernize the facility and enhance the sporting experience for athletes and spectators.

Findings by our correspondent show that the security posts at both entrances of the complex have been fully renovated and are awaiting official commissioning, although the date has yet to be announced.

The perimeter security has also been strengthened with the replacement of the old barbed-wire fencing with new gauze wire, while the players’ changing rooms are being upgraded to meet improved standards.

Sources at the facility further revealed that the existing natural grass playing surface will be replaced with modern artificial turf (AstroTurf), a move expected to improve durability and year-round usability.

An engineer working on the project disclosed that plans are also underway to construct a spectator stand within the sports complex.

“There is going to be a stand at one of the stadia. I can’t disclose the exact location because I’m not authorized to do so,” the engineer said.

The renovation is expected to significantly improve the infrastructure of the FirstBank Sports Complex, positioning it as a more modern venue for grassroots and elite sporting activities in Lagos.
